Gum Flower Fairy 3
Flowering Gum, inspired May Gibbs (Australian Author) to write about the Gumnut Babies and their adventures in the Australian Bush. In turn May Gibbs and the childhood memory of her stories inspired me to photograph the pink flowering gum. May Gibbs wrote that the “ Blossom Babies” are “harder to find than the Gumnut Babies. They are more timid…” Gum Flower Fairy (3) reflects their shy nature, as we only get to see a little of the “ Blossom Baby” but all the intricate, delicate features of the Pink flowering gum and its wonderful depth of colour.
