In Flight
This piece was captured right after an intense east coast low storm at Birubi Beach. As the heavy weather began to clear, the sun suddenly cut through, turning the ocean surface into a dramatic mix of rich blues and breaking light. I used a slow panning motion to catch that wild mood, and just as I pressed the shutter, a lone seagull swept across the water. It’s an entirely unrepeatable moment—distilling the clearing energy of a coastal storm down into a clean, minimalist slice of movement.
Visual & Styling Details
The Palette: A striking blend of deep storm-washed tones—moody navy and rich indigo bases layered against pale seafoam blues, warm wet-sand ochres, and a crisp, clean white focal streak.
The Vibe: Dynamic, refreshing, and full of life. Unlike typical static ocean photography, the sweeping horizontal motion and the sharp tilt of the wings bring an optimistic, fresh energy to a room.
